| Residents protest against govt criticizes IAY list | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Mar 24 : Residents of Keeriyan Gandiyal staged a protest demonstration against J& K government and criticized IAY list where Panchayat body preferred their blue eyed person than deserving while preparing list of people falling under privileged section. They criticized list that has been prepared to built houses under Indira Awas Yojna, IAY and sought fair list where names of deserving candidates must be included tan blue eyed persons.
The protest was led Social worker, Anju Bala who stringently condemned the working of Rural development Department and said that officers should intervene the menace to draw out fair IAY list. She said those who are actual beneficiary of the IAY scheme are depriving off such facility but Land lords who have several acre land are enjoying the scheme with the co-operation of Panchayat Members. The protesters, later on, called on BDO Kathua and appraised the whole menace. BDO Kathua, N.K Chandan pacified the protesters and ensured to review the list and actual deserving persons of the villages so as benefits will be given to right hand. He said that he would personally visit in the venue to review the existing situation. He ensured to take indispensable steps to draw out truth. The protesters demanded that the intense indiscipline and undemocratic tendencies must be checked and the culprits should be booked for corrupt practice and for causing severe hardships to the deserving people. |
