Vivekanand college students pay tributes to Bhagat Singh | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Mar 24: Vivekananda College of Education paid rich tributes to Bhagat Singh and his comrades by organizing 'Trimurti Balidan Diwas' in its campus. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta, Chairman Vivekananda College of Education. Principal Vivekananda College of Education Dr. Anju Sharma was among the distinguished personalities who graced the occasion. In her welcome address Dr. Anju Sharma said that "Bhagat Singh was a nationalist, a hero and a youth who became an icon. Even as political parties seek mileage by associating with his name, one cannot help himself feeling that Bhgat Singh would have taken to task the pretenders who are not by any stretch of imagination as committed to ideals as he was". The first item of the programme was welcome Qawali followed after there was Dogri Dance and Giddha. The main attraction of the function was play 'Trimurti Balidan' based on the real life incidents of revolutionaries. It depicted the most popular scenes from their childhood till the day when they were hanged to death for the cause of the nation. The performance of the students made the audience outspoken. The dialogues spoken by all actors especially Raj Guru & Chandra Shekhar got great applaud from the audience side . The scene of meeting Bhagat Singh with his fiancy and mother in the jail, their mutual conversation and scene of execution made the public emotional and tears began to roll down their eyes. Addressing the gathering Chief guest said that "Let's salute and pay tribute to the legend and symbol of India's martyrdom. Committed communicator, perceptive, passionate, admirable…… any young person would be flattered to be the subject of any one of these adjectives". |
