Kishtwar, May 13: Groupism and in-fights have marred the membership drive of the Indian National Congress that begins from District Kishtwar, as according to sources, Vice-President, PCC, Ghulam Mohd Saroori and District President, Congress Committee, Pardeep Singh Parihar held two separate functions within the same district. As per party insiders, Parihar launched the membership drive from TRC, Kishtwar today whereas MLA, Inderwal, Ghulam Mohd Saroori launched the same from Dak Banglow, Kishtwar on the same day. A congress leader of Kishtwar said that such in-fights have become common in Kishtwar in the recent past and the same is harming Congress party on the grassroots level. According to him, people have resentment over two membership drives within the same district. He added that the failure of the membership drive could be well gauged from the fact that only 400 people participated in the drive held at Dak Bunglow and only 300 people participated in the membership drive at TRC building. |
