Rajouri, May 13: While the new dispensation under the leadership of Minister for Education Nayeem Akhtar has pledged to give the education structure a rehashed value based upliftment, the middle hierarchy in the department seems to be hell-bent to pursue its unethical occupation. An example under this immoral act is allegedly being committed at middle and primary schools at Nahoti village at lower Hathal in district Rajouri.
As per the information, three bathrooms are being constructed in these two schools costing Rs 6 lakh for which the education department has sanctioned the money also.
The astonishing fact that underlines here is that these two schools which have the total strength of 55 to 60 kids only have already three bathrooms for them which is more than sufficient.
The extra construction of another three bathrooms have raised the eyebrows seeking the answer from the ZEO Lower Hathal Ravinder Khajuria who was unable to answer the querry and said that "pressure is from the higher authorities ".
" I have got the orders from higher authorities to sanction these bathrooms for these two schools and I am just complying with the orders," said ZEO Ravinder Khajuria adding that the pressure is from the higher authorities.
When querried as to why not such funds are diverted for the upkeep of the sanitation and good health olf the students by providing them fans, books, uniforms and healthy diet, he had no answer .
The education minister Nayeem Akhtar expressed great anguish when this was brought to his notice.
He admitted that if there is no need for extra bathrooms, the money should be utilized for betterment of the education quality of the students.
" I would initiate and enquiry into this and there after only I will take the punitive action against the department ," assured the education minister Nayeem Akhtar.
