Jammu, May 13: IPL Cricket mania turned fatal for Jammu youth as two of the four cricket lovers lost their lives in a tragic road accident here on Wednesday when the four youth were going to the Mohalli to witness the IPL Match. Sources said, “two Jammu based youth died on spot while two others received critical injuries in a tragic road accident that took place on National Highway here near Mukerian in Punjab. “The deceased have been identified as Raghav (29) s/o Rakesh Sharma and Deepak (27) s/o Om Prakesh, both residents of Vijaypur,Samba while as injured have been identified as Kapil of Vijaypur and Ankit of Jammu, police sources said. “A group of seventy persons went to the Mohalli to witness the IPL Match, sources said, adding, “the tragedy struck when they were on way to Jammu from Chandigarh after enjoying the IPL mach held in Mohalli.” Police sources said, the youths were on way to Jammu when their Santro car bearing registration number JK21A-7788 had a head on collision with a truck, resulting death of two on the spot and critical injuries to two other occupants of car. Soon after the incident, the locals and Punjab Police rushed to the spot and Police identified the deceased on the basis of identity cards which were found in their pockets. Punjab Police later flashed message to the Samba police for further action. Meanwhile SSP Samba Joginder Singh when contacted said that the message in this regard was conveyed to the parents of the youth. The family members after having information rushed to the accident site, till last reports poured in. |
