Gujjars, Bakerwals stage protest against JDA, Forest Department | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 13: Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakkerwal Desh Youth (GBDY) today staged protest demonstration here outside of Press Club, against Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and forest department for demolishing houses of innocent people. According to press release, JKGBDY president, Ch Khatana said that he criticized the demolition of land and houses by the JDA and Forest Department that was done couple of days back areas belonging from Dummail Skatera, Nandni Tunnel and Nagrota Kot Jagir, Chaitni Ward-06 Nagrota Byepass, Asrarabad Sidra, Dwara Sidra, Area near Golf Course, Rattnuchak Area, Rakka Nallah Narwal and other areas which is not bearable. He further said that only the land of poor people and nomads living there has been demolished by force. It may also be mentioned here that during the demolition only land / houses belonging to Muslim Gujjars was demolished and grabbed and no house or land of other communities was demolished. A number of bureaucrats along with rich people by illegal means has grabbed the lands, but no demolition for these high profile people. He said that the Government has a great deal with bureaucrats and corporate sectors to make money out of it. These poor people are living there from centuries. Every Government beats these poor and innocent residents in different ways in their own styles from time and again. He demanded especially from Minister for Forests to look into the matter seriously and take a serious decision regarding the matter and stop this demolition, keeping in view the future consequences arising out of it. Ch. Roshan Din, Sardar Mohammad, Ch. Akbar, Ch. Saif Ali, Ch. Ashfaq, Ch. Ab Razaq were also attended the protest. |
