Tipper driver sentenced six years in jail for negligent driving | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 31: Electricity Magistrate Jammu RH Mirza awarded six months imprisonment and fine Rs 500/- to Ranjit Singh a driver of Tipper who was booked by the police in year 2007 u/s 279/337/338 RPC. While deciding the case after hearing eight years, Electricity Magistrate RH Mirza after hearing Senior PO KK Kotwal observed that the prosecution has proved its case without examination of I/O and awarded six months imprisonment and fine Rs 500/- and sent the accused to District Jail Amphalla Jammu to serve the imprisonment. According to the police case that on October 10, 2007 at about 4 PM a tipper which was driven by the accused while driving the said tipper in rash and negligent hit rediwalas and caused accident and two persons got grievous injuries. Police registered a case and after completion of investigation presented challan against the accused person. Which was decided after eight years and accused was convicted and sentenced six months imprisonment and fine Rs 500/-. |
