If well placed sources in saffron brigade are to believed, the answer will be yes.
Bharatiya Janta Party's (BJP) core committee, which is the highest decision making body, has become defunct as it is learnt organizing general secretary Ashok Koul has taken over complete control of the party. Instead of taking senior leaders into confidence to take important decisions, the all powerful Ashok Koul is taking all important decision on his own.
The person in question Ashok Koul, who has been loaned to the BJP by Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) to strengthen organisation structure of the party, is even challenging parent body thereby fully enjoying his positions.
Sources said that in the recently held meeting of the Coalition Coordination Committee it was decided by both the parties to appoint chairpersons and vice chairpersons of various Development Boards. Some leaders have reportedly asked Ashok Koul to convene meeting of the Core Committee to finalize names for the candidates but Koul seems to be not interested in convening the meeting because he would take decision on his own without consulting anybody.
Sources said that most of the senior leaders of the BJP have indulged into infighting following which Ashok Koul is taking benefit of this struggle to establish his own supremacy in the party. Ashok Koul has make the "Core Committee" defunct to run the BJP on his own wishes and to accommodate his loyalists on important positions.
Sources said that Ashok Koul played very important role in the appointment of Prof Ashok Aima as Vice Chancellor of Central University Jammu despite the fact that RSS was not in favour of Prof Aima.
As lobbying is on by number of aspirants representing different communities to secure the respective berths, number of core committee members are watching the political development as mute spectators.
"It is very unfortunate that even party high command is silent over the crucial issue as if wrong choices are given priorities it would further damage the image of party especially in Jammu Province where the party bagged majority of the Assembly seats," commented one of the core group member while speaking Early Times on the condition of anonymity.
Sources further revealed that instead of taking into confidence the members of Core Committee, the RSS man is just taking advises and consultancies of selected BJP Ministers. |
