Early Times Report

Jammu, May 31: High-profile marriage of Minister of State for Roads and Buildings and Revenue department, Sunil Sharma at was attended by all ministers and senior bureaucrats of the State. While as some ministers preferred to travel by road to attend marriage of their colleagues some others used state chopper to become part of the Barat of Sunil Sharma.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh along with his wife Mamta Singh along with Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture, Priya Sethi were first to reach the marriage function. They travelled in State chopper and reached early morning at Kishtwar. In second Minister of Health and Medical Education, Choudhary Lal Singh along with R &B Minister, Altaf Bukhari and Social Welfare and Forest Minister, Bali Bhagat reached Kishtwar to become "Barati" of Sunil Sharma. These teams of ministers attended a private function of their colleague by using state chopper has raised many eye-brows. The Deputy Chief Minister not only attended private function in a State chopper but he was also accompanied by her wife.
When two ministers namely Minister for Revenue, Javed Mustafa Mir and Minister for PHE, Flood Control and Irrigation, Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar can travel by road to attend this private function what is the fun of using state chopper by these ministers for this marriage.
In the cash starved state of Jammu and Kashmir where government has no money to give wages to the daily wagers and contractual employees of Jammu province, ministers are using state chopper with their families is really a matter for concern. Common masses are asking the question, "How will pay for the chopper which was used by the ministers to attend a private function with their family members?".
BJP, which used to criticise former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Congress ministers for mis-using State Chopper, has to answer this question.
