Thatched house gutted | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, June 5: A thatched house was gutted at Jasrota near Rajbagh 14 Km here from Kathua in which all household assets and cattle fodder suffered huge losses. The house caught fire suddenly which engulef the whole thatched hutment due to fast wind. Narrating her woes Nasim Akhtar, the victim of fire said they have been living since 1992 here at Jasrota but today their straw house got fire suddenly and all assets including Jewelry, School uniform and bags perished. As per owner assets worth Rs 7-8 laksh have been gutted the fire. She said nothing has been left and they are depending upon locals for food items and clothes. Nasim also has sought some compensation to bring her family a survival. Balwinder Kour, a local said 10-15 people suffered due to fire and they now depend upon others for basic amenities of the family and sought state government to do something for their livelihood. Meanwhile Surinder Singh, PDP State Secretary while interacting to fire affected people ensured the victims to precede the matter to JK Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed for compensation. He also appealed to District administration for relief with immediate effect. |
