Mufti helped end regional imbalance | Omar's taunt is unwarranted | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 5: In his recent tweet, the former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has made a satirical comment. "Pakistani flags in Kashmir and Khalistani posters in Jammu. This wasn't the regional balance we were promised by Modi-Mufti accord." Yes, Omar is right Pakistani flags have appeared during past few months especially from the day Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani arrived from New Delhi. But, Pakistani flags were also hoisted during Omar Abdullah's regime. During the 2010 agitation when Omar led government 130 youth, most of them school going children; the demonstrators across Kashmir would chant "Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan" slogans. History is witness to the fact that regional imbalances have taken place during NC regimes. It ended in 2005 when a person from Jammu region took oath as the Chief Minister of the state and Mufti Sayed must be given full credit for that. Omar's taunt , therefore, is unwarranted. |
