PDP, BJP Govt completes 100 days, people's problems pile up

Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 5: While the problems continue to mount everyday after in J&K, there is not even a single grievance cell where people can register their grievances.
Everyday there are issues related to electricity, water scarcity, erratic traffic and what not. But leaving everyone guessing, the government still seems reluctant in establishing an office wherein sufferings could have been somehow, if not entirely, mitigated.
This is all happening as the PDP-BJP government is about to complete 100 days in office. Both PDP and BJP, prior to the government formation, had promised people that they would listen to them once they come into power. Both the parties used to train guns against the previous coalition government for poor governance and losing contact with the people. Now when the tables have turned around, history is repeating itself.
It looks ironic indeed that not even a single complaint-registering portal is functional in the state where the people would approach.
The social media these days is abuzz with the netizens asking the souring question: "Where is government and where are the promises it made about the good governance to the people prior to polls of 2014."
Details inform that besides making no attempt in establishing a point wherein government could listen to its people, the previous complaint registering portals are defunct.
People say that the offices in the state continue to remain corruption and nepotism hubs and if someone wants government to take action, there is no route available through which it could be done.
There are also reports of gross violations of transfers and postings of various departments being done in violation of the codal procedures but people continue to bear the brunt.
The Power Development Department had earlier announced a helpline, but it continues to remain defunct with no measures being taken to fix it.
How long will this sad state of affairs continue is a question which only government can answer. A common man, on the other hand, hopes and yearns for a better tomorrow.
