Swayamsevaks infuriated by BJP spokesman's remark | RSS-BJP rift wide open in JK | | Bivek Mathur Early Times Report JAMMU, June 5: Bringing out the simmering differences between state unit of the BJP and the RSS in open today, over 50 supporters of RSS leader Indresh Kumar in a meeting under the chairmanship of Dinesh Khanna and Mukund Lal Sharma resolved to condemn remarks of the Jammu based BJP spokesperson, that cast aspersion on the statement senior RSS leader that he made a few days back. The prominent RSS Swayamsevaks who passed the resolution included Madan Lal Abrol, Narayan Dutt Raina, Judge (Retd), Paviter Singh, Dev Raj Gupta, Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Jagdish Sharma, Jagdish Dogra, Narpati Sharma, Pitambar Sharma, Kuldeep Baro, Des Raj Sharma and others. Mukund Lal Sharma, a veteran RSS Swayamsevak today told ET that RSS Swayamsevaks were deeply hurt by the remarks of BJP Spokesperson, on the RSS ideologue Indresh Kumar as the latter had sacrificed over 15 years of his life in the service of Jammu Prant as Prantiya Pracharak. Sharma said that Indresh Kumar is held in high esteem by lakhs of patriots of the Jammu and Kashmir state and other RSS Swayamsewaks across the country. "The remarks of BJP spokesperson are highly insulting for the followers of Indresh Kumar", Sharma said. "We are even contemplating to lodge an FIR against the BJP Spokesperson if BJP failed to initiate action against him for his remarks against Indresh Kumar as he demeaned the veteran leader by his off the cuff remark?" added Sharma. Pertinently, Kumar had on Tuesday criticized the functioning of the coalition government and asserted that the "people of Jammu may not forgive the BJP for forging an alliance with the PDP owing to which the separatist are gaining an upper hand and interests of Jammuites are being ignored". Reacting to this statement of Indresh Kumar, the BJP Spokesperson had alienated the RSS, terming the statement of the BJP spokesperson as RSS's own assessment. "Nothing was wrong with the coalition" the spokesperson had maintained in an obvious snub to the Indresh's observation. |
