Early Times Report
Jammu, June 5: Throwing all norms to winds, a blue-eyed candidate was reportedly adjusted on the post of Rehbar-e-Talim teacher at Gool government schools by the officials of Jammu and Kashmir Education department, depriving the meritorious candidate from the job, twice.
The documents with Early Times disclosed that in 2010, the education department advertised posts of ReT teachers for Upgrade Girl Public School (UGPS) Dhedha, which falls under education zone Gool.
"Ten candidates applied for the posts of ReT and the selection list was submitted to ZEO Gool prepared by selection panel (CEO/R/10/2016-69 dated 2/1/2010). In the list, it is clearly mentioned the names of two candidates on top of merit lists, who were in Science stream and in Mathematics stream.
"Unfortunately, the topper in Maths stream was dropped while the second in the list in the same stream was adjusted as RET", according to the documents.
Moreover, in the same year, the Education department once again advertised the ReT posts for Upgrade public School at Kalla, Dhedha, the dropped candidate from the Maths stream once again applied for the posts and again came in the top of merit list but once again the department replaced his name with another blue eyed candidate.
The education department, while defending their decision, replied in writing that the topper in Maths stream was already appointed at UGPS Dhedha, so he could not be appointed in Kalla Dhedha School.
Talking to Early Times, the victim said that both times, injustice was done to him as the corrupt officials of department appointed other candidates, in lieu of pecuniary benefits and violating the selection criteria.
He alleged that some officials had taken money from the aspirants and deliberately replaced his name as he was not able to give money to officials.
"I have been suffering a lot for last five years for justice and roaming from pillar to post to get my right of appointment as RET but the authorities at the helm of affairs are hell bent upon to destroy my career, " he added.
CEO Ramban, Mohammad Sharief having joined a few months ago, said he was not aware of the development. ZEO Gool could not be contacted.
