Katra, June 5: The Diamond Jubilee Conference of All India Philosophy Association (Akhil Bharatiya Darshan Parishad) concluded at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra today on 5th June. The conference was organized by the School of Philosophy & Culture (SOPC) wherein Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education was the Chief Guest of the inaugural session held on 3rd June. Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain, Vice Chancellor addressing the delegates highlighted how philosophy teaches us all to give something to society. While everyone in this society is after gaining something for oneself, philosophy of life should be to learn to give something back to society. Prof. Jatashankar, who was unanimously re-elected as President of the Association for another term in the General Body meeting, congratulated the audience and organizers. Dr J M Dave Chairman of the Diamond Jubilee Conference applauded the organizers and the cooperation of delegates. Prof. Ramji Singh, the Presiding Officer, while speaking on the occasion stressed upon the need to understand the strength of our culture which teaches oneness despite fostering numerous religions, sects and regional cultures. Dr V K Tripathi, Director SOPC and Dr Anil K Tiwari Organizing Secretary thanks all the delegates and distinguished guests for making the conference a success. More than 300 delegates attended the conference from all across the country and 200 papers were presented in endouwment lecture sessions, six parallel sessions and in the speciall session on Kashmir Shaivism Prof. Ram Bahadur Shukla, Prof Ramji Singh, Prof. R C Sinha, Prof. Sohanraj Tated, Prof. R D Bhandari and many other distinguished scholars were present on the occasion.
