7th National Heritage Trek Expedition, DC Jammu lauds YHAI.

JAMMU, June 5: Dr. Pawan Kotwal IAS Divisional Commissioner Jammu Division interacted with the office bearers of YHAI J&K State branch including Taran Singh Secretary and Balwan Singh Dy. Director Adventure promotion and discussed the ongoing 7th National Heritage trekking expedition.
Dr Kotwal met the officials at Kud along with Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, IAS District Collector Udhampur and Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, IPS Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur and other officisers from District administration.
Dr. Kotwal while expressing his happiness about such events being organized in backward areas like Pancheri, Lander , Kati, Mantalai and bringing the national and international tourists to state by organizing National heritage trek Expedition. He said that Mantalai and Sudhmahadev is very important places and efforts for bringing these places to national and international tourism map are being done.
Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary IAS District Collector Udhampur while appreciating the NHTE-2015 programme , he assured all his help in organizing Heritage trekking expedition in Udhampur District.
It is worth to mention here that Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, SSP Udhampur flagged off the first batch of trekkers and started the trekking expedition.
Taran Singh Secretary YHAI JK State Branch thanked the Udhampur administration and District Police for the support in smooth conduct of the trekking expedition and said that whole of the administration of udhampur and all departments have supported the expedition. He elaborated the solution for the cleaning of Devika river, given a trekker last year while passing through Udhampur city. Dr Shaid Iqbal Choudhary IAS, DC Udhampur liked the suggestion and promised that all efforts will be done to clean the Devika river. He further suggested that tourism is a composite activity and merely good and beautiful locations cannot attract the tourists. He suggested that souvenirs made by local artists and local produces may be made available to tourists visiting Jammu tourists destinations and most importantly the behavior of locals should be tourist friendly.
