DPS Management warns public not to move near Chenab

KISHTWAR, July 19:The Management of Dulhasti Power Station (DPS), NHPC Limited has cautioned general public of Districts Doda and Kishtwar in particular public of village Dul, Benzwar, Cherhar, Bhandarkot, Hasti, Kandni, Thathari, Prem Nagar and Pul Doda not to move near river Chenab on July 22 from 00:30 hrs to 18:30 hrs as the gates of Dulhasti Power Station Dam will be opened for periodical reservoir flushing.
During this period the water level may rise temporarily. Therefore, the public residing near river Chenab downstream areas is being cautioned to refrain from moving themselves/ their cattle/ trucks and tippers near the banks of River Chenab to avoid any mishap and to co-operate for the safety of their lives. Anybody violating the precautionary appeal will be doing so at his own risk and responsibility and NHPC/Management of Dulhasti Power Station shall not be responsible for consequences thereof, a press release of the DPS management said.
