Jammu, July 19: While he had advocated seniority to get the charge of acting vice-chancellor, Prof R D Sharma was now alleged to be ignoring seniority as, according to sources, he recently elevated some junior most faculty members to administrative posts, leaving seniors disappointed.
Sources said the ex-VC of Jammu University, Prof M P S Ishar had given charge of acting VC to Dean Academic Affairs, Dr Neelam Saraaf, but following the Sharma's objection that being senior, he deserved to be given the charge of acting VC, the governor's office had issued orders making him acting VC.
However, after becoming VC, Sharma was alleged to have forgotten the rules of seniority.
"Prof Suman Jamwal, who stands at Serial No 42 in seniority list, was awarded with post of Director Centre for Woman Study replacing Dr Neeru Sharma, charge of two posts Director Business School and Provost Women Hostel was given Dr Versha Mehta who falls at No 33 in the seniority list, replacing Prof P S Manhas. Dr Anupama Vohra appointed as Associate Dean, Student Welfare, Dr Vibhakar Mansotra number 76 in seniority list, assigned job Director IT, Dr D S Bahu who is holding charge of Director Sports and number 39 in the seniority list blessed with extra charge of Director Yoga recently", sources said, alleging that seniority has been compromised by the vice-chancellor on many occasions while giving charges of various administrative posts in JU.
Sources said that Registrar and Director Staff Colleges University of Jammu were also selected while neglecting senior most faculty members. "Dr Keshav Sharma, who recently elevated as Registrar and had held post of Controller Examination number eight in the seniority list. Director Ramnagar Campus, Dr Rajnikant Sharma number 16 in the seniority list blessed with extra charge of Director Staff Colleges by the present incumbent", sources added.
Sources said that senior faculty members who usually avoid walking in power corridor of University to get blessing of the vice chancellor were neglected while selection for various administrative posts.
"Dr Jigar Mohammad, seventh in the seniority list, Dr Rajinder Gupta seniority list No 9, Dr Kuldeep Sharma No 10, Dr Rajni Dengra No 12 and Dr Naresh Padha number 15. Dr Archana Kesar, Dr Ramnika Jalali, Dr Geeta Sumbli, Dr Anita Kumari, Dr Anju Bhasin, Dr Neena Sharma, Dr Neetu Andotra and other senior faculty members were ignored", they added. |
