Revenue officials tamper record, rob woman of her land | VO, Police stay inert | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: In yet another case of omission and commission by the officials of Revenue department for ulterior motives, land record has been tampered by the officials to rob a poor victim of her legitimate piece of land. Victim of land mafia, Bimla Devi, a resident of Pascal Bishnah, Tehsildar Bishnah Mohd Sayeed, Joginder Rapu Patwari Patwar Halqa Pascal, Bishnah tampered land record and transferred the piece of land on the name of Suraj Parkash son of Girdhari Lal resident of Pascal, Bishnah Jammu. "Revenue officials including Tehsildar and Patwari Bishnah tampered the record. Mutation was performed without the knowledge of the owners of the property", she said, adding that when they approached concerned Tehsildar, the Tehsildar instead of performing his duty, misbehaved with the victim. Moreover, following demands of graft made by Patwari and Tehsildar to fix the record, the victim brought entire issue in the notice of state vigilance organization, through written compliant six month back, but nothing has been done so far by the anti graft agency. Later they approached the court of Land Custodian, Jammu, but order issued by court was not implemented. "Presented through counsel, issue notice to the respondents/ non-applicants and put up on March 23, 2015. In the meanwhile, status-quo shall be maintained on spot in respect of land measuring eight Kanals under survey number 56 situated at village Pascal, Tehsil Bishnah till further", copy of court order read. However, the court also directed SHO Bishnah to implement the order issued to maintain the status-quo on July 2, 2015. The victim is running from pillar to post for, seeking evacuation of the encroached/ grabbed land. "Despite my repeated requests to Police, Tehsildar and Patwari, but all vain as nothing has been done so far", she said and added; "My property has been illegally mutated by the land grabbers with the help of Revenue Department's officials who tampered the records. I am wondering from pillar to post from the last six months, but nothing is happening." She requested the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Simrandeep Singh to intervene in the matter to get her land back. |
