Army conducts Volleyball Tournament at Jhangar 7/24/2015 11:08:00 PM Early Times Report udhampur, July 24: An under-19 Inter Village Volleyball Tournament organized by Rashtriya Rifles battalion began today at Jhangar under the aegis of Force Headquarters based at Reasi. The village level games are being organized by the unit in close coordination and with support of local village sports bodies and renowned coaches from the Army to tap the local talent for recruitment in the Armed Forces. Representatives from Regimental Centres of Jammu & Kashmir Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, The Sikh Light Infantry, The Brigade of Guards, Punjab Regiment and Madras Engineering Group would be present during the conduct of the tournament to identify and select budding players. Emphatic response to a publicity campaign ensured twelve teams representing respective villages in the event. The closing ceremony and finals is scheduled on 28 July 2015 wherein senior Army and civil officials will grace the occasion.
