Tussle between BJP, PDP for posts of 4 left out Boards | BJP leader with vested interest 'adamant' on OBC instead of SC Board | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 24: As the PDP-BJP coalition government is moving on with a 'go slow' approach towards filling up of prestigious posts of various Boards and Corporations, tussle is now as to which party would get its share in the left out 4 Boards. These include Pahari Board, Gujjar Board, SC Board and OBC Board out of which both the parties would get posts for any two. Sources said while PDP leadership has left these decisions entirely with the party high command, things are being influenced within BJP by one or the other leader at quarters which matter in decision making. Sources said while out of the two SC and OBC Boards , BJP was for obvious reasons meant to get its share in the SC Board, but one of its senior leader is not just insisting on, instead adamant that the party gets share in OBC Board. Sources further said that the said leader is neither a minister nor an MLA but wields influence on decision making process in the state unit. Sources said while leadership of both the allies are grappling and far from reaching a perfect understanding on distribution of Boards, this leader from BJP is trying to cash in on troubled waters and grind his own axe. He is insisting on OBC Board with the leaders at the helm on a flawed argument as he wants to adjust his own candidate against this post in the category, sources said adding that since the tenure of the present organisational set up gets completed in about two months of time, this leader wants to settle and adjust his own people on various key postings before departure from the organizational responsibilities. However, this has caused a resentment within the party as there are many contenders, a couple of them genuine aspirants for the SC Board, sources added. |
