JKCA Scam: Court directs police to investigate as Farooq led group opts legal course | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 24: In another twist in much hyped JKCA Scam, a local court today directed police to investigate into a complaint filed by Farooq Abdullah led group, seeking registration of an FIR against a 'rebel faction' for alleged criminal conspiracy and trespassing into the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. Court also directed the SHO to file status report by or before next date of hearing on August 19. When the plea was taken up here today, 3rd Additional Munsiff, Sunil Kumar said, "Keeping in view of the facts and circumstances, SHO Ram Munshi bagh is directed to investigate the matter in light of facts disclosing commission of congnizable offence in the application and documents annexed for lodging of FIR." He also directed the SHO to file status report by or before next date of hearing on August 19. The said compliant was been filed by M L Nehru, General Secretary, and Arvinder Sigh Micky, chairman of JKCA, against the members of rebel group viz. Mehbood Iqbal, Iqbal Shah Abdul Rouf, Javaid Ahamd Kitab, Rakesh Kumar, Sudershan Mehta and Manzoor Ahmad Wazir. The complainant have submitted that Rakesh Kumar, and Sudershan Mehta proceeded with various undesirable activities while functioning as vice chairman Jammu and Joint Secretary respectively including improper operation and utilization of bank accounts of the association. "Their action resulted into joining various issues by them on false and unfounded grounds against the elected office bearers of the association, inasmuch as conducting unauthorized, illegal and uncalled for activities in the name of the Association," complainants stated further alleging, 'they hatched a 'criminal conspiracy' with other, named as accused in the compliant, on July 20." "An unlawful assembly was formed by them with common intention and common object and they trespassed into the office of the Association situated at Sonwar by breaking open locks being under lawful and authorized possession and control of the applicants and other office bearers," they said. On July 21, the former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah termed action of the 'rebel faction' JKCA as "gundaraaj" and had insisted that he would fight it out in the court of law. Farooq's remarks had come a day after the 'rebel faction', elected senior PDP leader and Sports Minister Imran Raza Ansari as the new president of JKCA. Farooq had instantly moved court and got the poll results stayed. |
