SAMBA, Aug 7 : Sahil Kumar of MV International School secured the coveted sprint gold while Rahul Singh of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Nud emerged as most successful athlete winning two gold in 800 meters track and triple jump field events in one-day inter-school under-19 boys athletics meet of district Samba, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Sports Stadium, here.
The second place in 100 meters race went to Vicky Kumar of Government High School Utterbehani while Gourav Billowria of Arvind Ghosh School, Vijaypur finished third. Meanwhile, a handout issued here today informed that around 105 students representing 21 government and private educational institutions took part in various field and track events in this day-long event. Earlier, the competition was declared open by Chief Education Officer, who was chief guest.
He encouraged the athletes and appreciated the district office of the department of encouraging young students towards sports. This sports meet was held under the guidance district officer, Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj.
Also present were Rakesh Verma, BD Sharma, Raghubir Singh and Pradeep Singh, all Zonal Physical Education Officers.
The events were officiated by the technical penal under the supervision of Anirudh Singh Slathia and activity inchrage, Rekha Sambyal. The technical penal included Bhupinder Singh, Dildar Singh, Kulbir Singh, Zorawar Singh Sambyal Purab Chander, Navjyoti Slathia, Chanchala Devi, Sudesh Sharma, Avtar Singh, Keshav Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Kranti Khajuria, Sumant Singh, Ruhi Sambyal and Harvinder Singh. |
