Panic in forward villages as Pak continues to violate 'ceasefire' | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Aug 7: Whether Pakistan army is providing cover fire to the terrorists who are desperately trying to infiltrate into Indian territory with the help of ISI and terrorists groups or it is just maintaining pressure to show its dominance in the area whatever the reality be but panic has been gripped in villages situated in close vicinity of the Line of Control (LoC) after frequent firing from across the border. As per sources, since July 29 when sepoy Rachpal Singh of Sikh unit was hit and killed with a sniper rifle bullet fired from across the border in Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district, Pakistan army has been continuously targeting Indian forward posts in Poonch district. "For the last four consecutive days 649 Mujahedeen Bn manning Copra (OP/LP/Main) posts opposite to Sabjian sector have been targeting our posts manned by Border Security Force (BSF), 40 RR and Gorkha units, sources said, adding, "it is anticipated that Pakistan is providing cover fire to the terrorists who are stranded at launch pads and desperate to infiltrate into Indian territory" Though the army is tight lipped about the reason behind the continuous firing by Pakistan army in Sabjian sector and every effort by anti-national forces have been foiled by alert Indian troops, yet it can't be ruled out that these terrorists will continue their attempts to infiltrate towards this side in future also. If recalled here at the side lines of Kargil Vijay Divas, Lt Gen DS Hooda, Northern Army Command Chief had also pointed out that about 150 trained terrorists sitting near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu province to be pushed into Indian side. And soon after his remarks, on July 30, 655 Mujahedeen Bn of Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked firing on troops of Sikh unit in Nangi Tekri area in KG sector. After this Mujahedeen Bn again from their Rashid PP post violated truce and targeted Indian posts on August 2. Similarly 641Mujahedeen Bn from their Copra posts also opened fire on our posts manned by Gorkha regiment and attracted retaliation from Indian side. Thereafter on August 5, Mujaedeen Bn again targeted Indian positions and also targeted civil population in these areas resulting into injuries to few civilians including Mohd Asraf and Abdul Ahad. The Pak troops didn't stop here but also targeted Indian posts on August 6 when 649 Mujhedeen Bn resorted to mortar shelling/small arms firing in the same locations and today also 649 Mujahedeen Bn resorted to unprovoked firing with small arms and mortar shelling targeting Indian posts manned by 40RR, Gorkha and BSF. Reliable sources said that Mujhedeen Bn continuously targeting administrative Base Camp of RR and BSF at Gali Madana and its adjoining areas.
