Reasi, Aug 7: Police today arrested a one person along with 5 kgs of Poppy straw (Bhukki) during a naka checking at a Searly in Resai district. A case has been registered in this regard.
The accused has been identified namely as Mohd Lateef of Charyai Muttal Tehsil & District Udhampur.
"On specific information, a special Police team from Katra police station headed by Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, SHO Katra under the supervision of Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Addl SP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi raised laid a naka at Searly and intercepted above said person.
"During his frisking and search of his belongings, the police team recovered 05 Kgs Poppy Straw (Bhukki) from his possession," said spokesman further, adding that the accused was arrested on the spot while Poppy Straw (Bhuki) was also seized.
In this connection, a case under FIR No. 128/2015 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Katra police station against the accused and further investigations are on. |
