Katra, Aug 7 : Professor Shyam S. Lodha, Chairman, Department of Marketing, School of Business, Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, USA addressed the students of School of Business and School of Economics, SMVDU here today. According to press release, during interaction, Professor Lodha elaborated and emphasized on the ingredients for managers in 21st century. Prof. Lodha described that world at this point is changing frequently, new challenges emerge all the time, the whole world is now connected and thus to manage all this, the managers play significant role. He uttered that in today's world every person, must have managerial qualities irrespective of his or her profession and today people cannot afford to be in their own style and there is just one style, that is, global style. It has now become mandatory to move with the world. Talking about the value of management education, he further said that management education is priceless. "It prepares individuals to deal with complex world". Narrating India's scenario, he said that it is the Indians now who decide what India will be like in the next five years. No other nation will be merciful on India that it is a poor country. He quoted "if you want to save yourself from the rat become a cat". He also said that earlier the business environment was simpler but today, the situation is such that anything in 2015 will be outdated in 2016 and nothing can stop the change. Prof. Lodha says today's generation is entitled generation, this generation does not like to wait, they want work life-balance, flexibility, employee benefits, privileges, equity, etc. Thus, it is very important to manage because even one person can make life hell. During the occasion, Directors and faculty members of both School of Business and School of Economics were also present and appreciated the task worthy talk given by Prof. Lodha. |
