Rajouri, Aug 7: Police today claimed to have arrested a drug peddler from Phangai village situated on Thanamandi-Shadra road in Rajoiri district and recovered a haul of banned drug with trade name 'Dolmol' tablets from his possession. The identity of accused has been ascertained as Javed Ahmed s/o Mohd Hafiz r/o Rajdhani of Rajouri district. Police said that on the tip off police team led by inspector Narinder Chib, SHO Thanamandi under the directions of Iftqar Talib, SDPO raised a 'naka' near village Phangai on Thanamandi-Shahadra road and intercepted one youth for his suspicious movement. "During frisking of youth police recovered 159 Dolmol tablets from the possession of said accused, police said. "As the accused could not give satisfactory reply to police queries about the intoxicants, he was arrested on the spot. A case under FIR No 118/2015 u/s 8/20/21/22 NDPS Act was registered in this regard while the further investigation to unearth modus operandi of the drug peddlers is on. |
