KISHTWAR, Aug 7:With a view to promote financial literacy among the public, NABARD organized financial literacy awareness programmes on pan India basis today, at Chatroo, Kishtwar. The programme was inaugurated by Adarsh Gupta, District Development Manager of NABARD. He appraised the gathering about basics of finance, banking and insurance and the role these have in our day to day life. The special focus of the program was to promote new social security schemes launched viz; Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna and Atal Pension Yojna. The details of these schemes were explained and all the queries were replied appropriately. Also, the application forms for these schemes were distributed among public. He said that earlier, a vast majority of people in our country did not have access to affordable pension and insurance, but with the launch of above mentioned social security schemes poor and unorganized workers too have been provided with the opportunity to avail easy access to insurance and pension. Besides these, details of various services offered through banks were explained like, saving schemes, education loans, and credit schemes especially Kissan Credit Card. Besides DDM NABARD, the programme was attended by Satish Gupta (Lead District Manager, SBI), Amjad Malik (Agricultural Extension Officer), Manoj (Branch Manager, J&K Bank). |
