Early Times Report

Reasi, Aug 7: In a brazen violation of official orders against vehicles moving to Shiv Khori, the local vehicle pliers of the area are running the illegal business by ferrying the pilgrims to the holy venue by charging them extra bucks, befooling them and throwing the government order with impunity.
The incidents are being reported at Shiv Khori new bus stand that is one and a half kilometer prior to the holy site where the local administration has passed an order vehicles to halt rather than move to the end point of the holy site to avoid congestion,
As per the order released by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, it says that all heavy vehicles including Winger vehicles, tempo travelers, mini buses and 407 matadors should no be allowed entry past the new bus stand to avoid convergence of the vehicles at the holy site which have been acting as the impediment to the pilgrims visiting the holy Shiv Khori.
However the smaller vehicles like Tata Indica and others are allowed access to the end point by the order issued under the hand of the DC Reasi.
Making mockery of the order, the local vehicle owners of winger vehicle and mini busus at the spot have indulged into an illegal affair by ferrying the passengers in the heavy vehicles to the holy site by charging the passengers Rs 30 per passenger.
The passengers who are made to alight one and a half kilometer short of Shiv Khori are fleeced by these vehicle owners who concede to their lure and board these vehicles shelling bout the demanded money to save time and energy, but are however, looted on this account.
A thirteen person assembly which had come from Delhi to pay obeisance at the holy site alleged that after being dropped at new bus stand, they were approached by couple of persons who offered them ride to Shiv Khori and made them board the heavy vehicle enroute to Shiv Khori. They were charged Rs 30 each.
The senior correspondent of Early Times who had been witness to such illegal business approached the Deputy Commissioner Sushma Chauhan with a complaint about the illegal business being run by the local vehicle pliers and got an astonishing answer.
"I will take the action against the culprits. But before that you need to provide proof of such criminal act being executed at Shiv Khori," said DC Sushma Chauhan.
The correspondent who had made the video recording of incidents said that since he possessed the documentary evidence of the illegal business, he got a very nonchalant reply that qualifies the fact that the local administration is hand-in-glove with the illegal business and has become the party to the crime as no administrative check had been initiated against that process.
