Udhampur, Aug 7: A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team on Friday visited the site of recent militant attack on a BSF convoy along the Jammu-Srinagar in Udhampur. The team headed by SSP Atul Goel visited the site at Narsu Nallah where terrorists on Wednesday ambushed a BSF convoy killing two personnel and injuring 11 others. The NIA team, official sources told Early Times, may also visit Chirdhi area of Udhampur village where the Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Usman had taken three villagers hostage before they overpowered him and handed him over to police. The team is also likely to visit Patnitop where militants had stayed in a hotel before attacking the BSF party next day to establish link behind the attack Sources said the NIA is likely to seek the assistance of a senior local police officer and another middle-rank officer. These two officers have, according to sources, served in the NIA in the past. |
