Sham Calls on Governor, highlights various issues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 7: Former Minister and Senior Vice President JKPCC, Sham Lal Sharma called on J&k State Governor NN Vohra, and demanded intervention to direct the state government to tighten the security arrangements, as Independence Day too ask for such fool proof strategy to counter Pak unleashed terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. According to press release, he expressed his regards for the Indian Defence Forces and Local security forces, has lauded the role of VDCs demanded their adequate strengthening by the state government to curb the growing menace of terrorists activities in the state. He submitted to Governor that ongoing Jammu popular movement, demanding AIIMS for them since, Union Finance Minister has announced it in his budgetary address in Parliament, but BJP's backtrack and coalition government’s decision to shift AIIMS to Kashmir caused great resentment in the entire region. He demanded that union government should honour their commitment in to avoid any further anguish and appealed for Governor's intervention to convey Jammu people's concern over the issue. While sharing his party’s concern on stand still situation on developmental front in the state, he urged upon Governor to direct the state government to allocate adequate funds for new projects as well as ongoing works to improve mean of communication, Health Facilities, Ration Distribution, Education Institutions etc;etc; Sham Sharma also brought into Governor's notice the Jammu people's brewing resentment over their claim to be one of SMART CITY as being identified by Union Urban Ministry but ignored merely due to negligent handling by the BJP ministers in the cabinet.He urged upon Governor to taken up the matter with union government as his special gesture towards Jammu. Shown his deep concern on the Border's disturbances by regular Pak Army indiscriminate firings on civilians,Mr Sharma requested Governor to direct state government for construction of ALTERNATE SAFE SHELTERS for borders areas residents,also demanded enhancement in compensation amount. Sharma expressed his satisfaction with Governor's meeting thanked him for his patience hearing. |
