| Batote-Kishtwar NH becomes trap in rainy season | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Aug 8: National Highway from Batote to Kishtwar has become the death trap for who is travelling through this road. Rains and cloudbursts over past year have led to vast damage in the Chenab basin and landslides have occurred at most stretches of the Doda -Bhaderwah and Kishtwar road.
"No one knows when a landslide will occur and we will have to spend hours and even days without food. The road has become almost un-motorable with a slight shower of rain while landslides have become an order of the day.
NH Batote Kishtwar has become becomes a death trap and if care is not taken, one can get buried deep under the debris of landslides without any chance of getting noticed till the time machines are not pressed into service.
Meanwhile Randeep Bhandari Congress Leader Kishtwar said that nobody takes care of our Batote Kishtwar NH where thousands of traveler travel on daily basis through this road and further demanded that state and central governments to devise a comprehensive plan for restoration and upkeep of the road so that it may called as NH not a death. |
