Jammu, Aug 9: Police have identified and is likely to arrest the National Conference cadre for allegedly instigating a small section of Rehbar-e-Talim (ReT) teachers to protest against the notification aimed at streamlining the education system by checking the educational credentials of teachers. According to sources, NC is projecting this praiseworthy endeavour of the education minister as anti-teacher and an 'insult' to ReT teachers. The NC, true to its alleged political DNA of destablising politics when out of power, has spread its cadre and is working round the clock. "That NC is instigating protests by ReT teachers became clear when they first held demonstrations during party president Farooq Abdullah's tour of Rajouri, Poonch districts," a senior official said. The NC has in the past also adopted the same tactics. The NC which allowed the rot to stem in the education feels that if the system is corrected, its alleged wrongdoings in the previous government, which was headed by Omar Abdullah, would get exposed. "Education sector is very crucial. NC does not want it to improve because if youth come to know that NC allowed education to deteriorate, it has the potential of further alienating them from the party, as the process had already started in the last elections. Also, if the youth come to know that it's PDP which is serious about the youth and the next generation, the party will emerge politically more strong. NC is alleged to have always used disruptive tactics to the extent that it only cared for its chumps for power, than the positive and intellectual growth of the children especially of Kashmir," the official asserted. |
