'Associates' enjoying special privilege Dawood calling shots in JU 8/10/2015 1:11:05 AM K Koushal Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 9: In an apparent view of monopolization of highest institute of learning, Dawood Iqbal Baba has been manning functioning of Jammu University and providing his associates special privileges. According to highly placed sources in Jammu University administration, Dawood used his influence to get his blue eyed Mubbasser Hussain appointed as Coordinator in Disaster Management Department in Bhaderwah campus during the tenure of Prof Amitabh Mattoo. Disaster Management Department was established in Bhaderwah campus after 2005 earth quake but after the transfer of the Prof GM Bhat, the department was closed down due to unavailability of capable faculty to run it. Fearing loosing Mubasser Hussain, Dawood shifted him to Kishtwar off site campus as he himself was the Project Director of the Kishtwar Campus in the year of 2010. Sources said that to shield his associate, Dawood used his influence and took him to Kishtwar campus. Therefore Hussain was placed as Liaison officer in the Kishtwar campus. Interestingly, from the year 2010 to 2014 salary of Mubbaser was withdrawn from the funds of Bhaderwah campus, but in the year 2014 Dawood once again used his influence and signed a circular in the capacity of Campus coordinator and submitted it to Ex VC of JU, MPS Isher with plea to change the salary head of Mubasser from Bhaderwah to Kishtwar with enhancement from Rs 10000 to 13500. MPS Ishar approved the note signed by the Dawood and the salary of the associate was hiked as per the wishes of Dawood. With effect from 1 April 2014, Mubasser is getting Rs 13500 as salary which made him the first ever employee of the Jammu University in Non-Teaching faculty to get Rs 13500 against maximum salary withdrawn by non-teaching wing is Rs 10000. After resentment started brewing among the colleagues of Mubbaser, Dawood played another trick and manipulated employees of Administration Wing of Jammu University. Since then, no official order regarding actual post of the Mubbaser. If sources are to be believed that appointment of Mubasser is itself a controversial, as he has done Masters from Sikkim Manipal University, in 2005, which otherwise is not recognized by the Jammu University.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
