Jammu, Aug 27: Jammu and Kashmir Ex-services League called an emergency executive committee meeting here today to discuss 'One Rank One Pension' and the present security situation at the League Office. According to press release, President Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal briefed the committee about the latest position at Jantar Mantar relay hunger strike and the discussions held with the Army Chief and informed them that we have not accepted the conditions to make 2011 as the base year for calculations and the implementation will be from 01 Apr 2014 as already accepted by the Govt. and the Prime Minister now being shifted to 01 Apr 2015. We have also insisted on 3% annual increase in the pensions. He further said that in case these conditions are not accepted, the J&K Ex-Servicemen will start candle light marches from 01 Sep 2015 which will be started at 7 PM from Brig Rajinder Singh Statue behind New Secretariat Jammu. They also decided that Ex-servicemen will hold candle Light protests in every village and major towns and cities of the State. The President and the members of the League congratulated Lt Gen R. R. Nimbhorkar, GOC XVI Corps and Lt Gen Satish Kumar Dua, friend of the soil, GOC XV Corps on promotion. Welcoming them the President offered the services of 1.5 lakh Ex-Servicemen from Ladakh to Lakhanpur for the Defence of the Country. |
