SAMBA, Sept 20 : Outplaying hosts Samba district by four wickets, Jammu district clinched the title trophy in the inter-district under-19 girls state level cricket tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Arazi Stadium, here. Batting first, after winning the toss, district Samba set a target of 106 runs for the loss of six wickets in given 20 overs. In reply, Jammu girls achieved the target by losing six wickets. Nadhia was declared woman of the match for her all round performance. She made 10-ball 16 runs and took away three important wickets in her four overs spell. The winners and runners-up teams were given away the prizes by organising secretary of the tournament, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj. Speaking to the gathering, he thanked all the departments of Medical, PHE, PWD, Municipal Committee Samba for extending a helping hand during the tournament. He also expressed his gratitude to those staff members , including ZPEOs, Lecturers, Masters, Teachers and non-teaching, for successful completion of the mega event. Also present were Rakesh Verma, B D Sharma, Vijay Singh Slathia, Pardeep Singh and Raghubir Singh (all ZEPOs). The competition was officiated by the technical penal comprising Romesh Mishra, Dharam Pal Thappa, Anirudh Singh Slathia, Kulbir Singh, Rajinder Singh Slathia, Dhanraj Singh Slathia, Sandeep Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Keshav Singh, Sumant Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Kranti Khajuria, Zorawar Singh Sambyal, Raj Kumar, Purab Chander, Krishan Kumar, Naresh Sharma, Roopa Sambyal, Sushma Sambyal, Asha Rani, Sudesh Kumari, Meenakshi Sambyal, Shashi Sambyal and Sarita. |
