Higher Education deptt "succumbs" to transfer industry players | Influentials manage to secure choicest postings | | Akshay Azad
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 20: Despite change of guard in Jammu and Kashmir, the new dispensation led by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has allegedly succumbed to arm twisting tactics of affluent players of transfer industry, who have managed to secure choicest postings for their 'clients'. Moreover, those influential Colleges Assistant Professors, who hold close allegiance with power corridors, have also managed to secure choicest postings by various means. Sources informed Early Times that the list prepared by Higher Education Department of 233 College Assistant Professors, which was reportedly withheld by Education Minister Naem Akhter, will ultimately expose the nexus of transfer industry players and influential professors. "A large number of influential College Associate Professors, have been overstaying in various colleges of Jammu city or other district headquarters in brazen violation of transfer policy while those, who have no political links have been waiting for postings in city", sources said. They further said that in Jammu city colleges, a large number of Assistant Professors have been working in their tutorials and shuffling from one city college to another, only to run their private business. "These "businessmen" College Assistant Professors are the main clients of transfer industry players", sources alleged. A senior official informed that the transfer industry players have been making the rounds of secretariat or the residence of ministers to secure prize postings for their clients, and it was being reported that the desire of transfer industry players have been filled. "Though College Assistant Professors had pinned high hopes on new dispensation, especially Education Minister Naem Akhter for rationalization of Professors, who have made city colleges as their rehabilitation centers but the high hopes of Professors are likely to be dashed on ground", the official said. "The transfer orders are likely to be issued in October and they will themselves reflect the influence of transfer industry players", the official said. |
