Harassed, insulted, JU officers of minority communities to knock NMC door | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 20: Alleging harassment at the hands of university administration, a couple of officers in the Jammu University are reportedly contemplating to make a representation to the National Minorities’ Commission. Sources in the JU administration divulge that an officer engaged in the campuses, belonging to a minority has been persistently subjected to harassment and insult as the interview for his regularization has been deferred several times on frivolous grounds. "His profile has not been defined after years and even important documents from his personal file went missing, depriving him of an opportunity for regularization" said an officer of the JU pleading anonymity. Another officer belonging to another minority community, working in the IT department of the JU has also been subjected to sustained vilification campaign by a coterie within the University administration. The officer, who is reported to have worked for stream lining the JUET, the university entrance exam to PG courses and brought down the expenditure incurred on this exam drastically, has been targeted rather than being rewarded. "The officer has developed several online systems to simplify and streamline JU administrative working, but administration devised a targeted campaign against him and harassed him" informed another JU officer. "He was even asked by a senior officer in the JU administration to pull off his name plate outside his office, which is ridiculous" he added. Sources disclose that the JU administration is bitterly divided into factions and groups which work with an agenda to humiliate each other, in the process creating problems for gullible employees, students and scholars. |
