Passengers harassed as train services suspended, courtesy MSG2: The Messenger | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 20: Heavy rush at the booking counter of the Jammu Railway Station was witnessed for cancellation of the train tickets as one hundred and twenty trains remained affected today due to the protest demonstration at railway tracks and roads by the followers of his Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda at Punjab . The followers jammed road and railway traffic across Punjab on Saturday to demand that the movie "MSG2: The Messenger", his second screen avatar, be shown in the state. Lakhs of passengers in Jammu and similar in number in the rest of the country were left in lurch as railway department postponed the railway services as a preventive measures following which blockade of the railway tracks by the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda. As none of the cinema-house owners in Punjab agreed to screen the movie on the second day of its release, the dera followers stepped up their protests, marched to the Bathinda railway junction, one of the busiest in the region, and squatted on the tracks under the Multanina railway over-bridge. The railway blockade started around 3.30pm, and the protesters have refused to move until theatres across the state run the MSG-2 show. Six trains were stranded at the Bathinda railway station and as many stuck at different locations in the district. A senior officer of the Northern Railways said the indefinite blockade had affected nearly 120 trains.
