5 yrs on, electrocuted lineman awaits compensation

BANIHAL,Sept 20: A lineman of Power Development (PDD) in Banihal who lost both the arms due to electric shock some five years ago is still waiting for compensation.
the victim identified as GH Hassan Sheikh lost his arms due to electric shock while working on an electric line His son said on 25 May 2010 when he was working on an electric line in IRCON colony at Banihal, he received a shock causing extensive damage to both of his arms. He was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar where his right arm was amputated. The lefy arm has no sensation. His left said that they sold their maximum agricultural land for his treatment.
The department gave him Rs 19000 as medical expenditure.
According to his wife , more than six lacs have been spent on his treatment till date. She urged the concerned including the Chief Minister to release the compensation as soon as possible.
