Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Sept 20: A door to door mass awareness drive by the members of Vision 2020 and Municipal Council, Udhampur, was today launched in Housing Colony here. The main motive of this drive was to aware people not to use polythene bags, keep their home as well as surroundings clean, aware other people to make cleanliness and not throw garbage on road. The team assured people of housing colony that municipal team will soon start a door-to-door garbage collection drive in their locality against a payment of Rs 100 per month. The housing colony president Jagdish Gupta also accompanied the team and assured full cooperation. The people shared problem regarding cleanliness with the team members and complained that safaikaramcharis were not visiting the locality regularly resulting to collection of garbage on roads. Municipality CEO K K Chalotra assured that very soon housing colony would get a permanent team of safaikaramcharis to start door to door garbage collection on daily basis. He informed that next Sunday, they would again start a drive in the housing colony. Those who participated in the today's drive included Anil Manhas, vishal Mahajan, Retd Col Juneja, Dheeraj Verma. Bhushan Khajuria, Nishchay Mahajan, Vikas Sharma, Gorav Magotra, Ankaj Sharma, Krishan Verma, Sonu, vijay, Sahil Gupta, Abhishek Sharma, sanitary Inspector Sunil and staff members. |
