Kundal accuses BJP for deprivation of SCs, STs
10/18/2015 10:39:56 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 18 : Lambasting the BJP-PDP government for failing to protect the rights and privileges of marginalized and under privileged sections of society, ex MLA Samba and and co-ordinator SC/ST cell of National Panthers Party Yash Paul Kundal appealed the SC and ST community besides RBA category people to join hands for restoration of reservation in promotions for the said deprived sections.
A statement issued here, Kundal said that it was highly illogical and outrageous to deprive the SCs and STs of J&K of the benefits of reservation in promotions in government jobs, while their counterparts in all other states of the country continued to avail of the said benefits. Regretting the non extension of the 77th Amendment of the constitution of India by virtue of which Art 16 of the constitution was amended so as to allow the benefit of reservation in promotion in govt. jobs in favour of SCs and STs, Mr. Kundal questioned the silence of BJP who is running the govt. at the centre as well as in the state. He regretted that National as well as the local leaders of BJP had failed to react on the situation created in the wake of the High Court orders which had crated lots of apprehensions in the minds of SC and ST population of the State.
Warning a massive agitation on the subject, he called upon the BJP led govt. at the centre to ensure parity to the SCs, STs and RBAs in the matter of promotion in conformity with the privileges enjoyed by their counterparts in rest of the country. He called for issuance of Presidential order for extending the provisions of Art 16 clause 4 A of the constitution of India to the State of J&K assuring reservations in promotions to the said classes failing which said categories would be forced to resort to massive protests and gherao of the Ministers.
