Jammu, Oct 18: The records pertaining to the LPG agencies have reportedly gone missing from DC office Jammu after Early Times in its September 9, 2015, edition carried a news item, under the headline 'Petroleum and Natural Gas ministry's guidelines raped in J&K'. Sources told Early Times that documents which have gone missing include No Objection Certificate (NOC) pertaining to the LPG agencies and godowns. The documents getting misplaced came to fore when the lawyer Kovid Khosla sought information pertaining to the issue with special reference to the issuance of NOC in favour of LPG godown of M/S Ravi Nath and Brothers, Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Taking the cognizance of the important file going missing, the State Information Commission directed the Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh to hold an inquiry and submit the report within three weeks. The DC Jammu was directed to initiate administrative action under rules against the officials for misplacing the important file and apprise the Commission accordingly. The Assistant Commissioner (Nazool), Jammu brought to the notice of the Commission that the file pertaining to the issuance of NOC in favour of LPG godown of M/S Ravi Nath and Brothers, Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar Jammu is not traceable from the office record. The Assistant Director's response came to fore when Commission reprimanded the Revenue Department for passing the buck. Earlier, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), HPCL and Revenue officials kept on shifting blame on each other for the information, the Commission sought response from them about the permission/NOC for construction of LPG godowns with special reference to the godown of M/S Ravi Nath and brothers of Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar Jammu at Babliana. Pertinently, Early Times on September 9, 2015 had reported that the gas agencies and its godowns are running illegally as the same are violating Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry's guidelines. The Petroleum and natural Gas Ministry guidelines state that the godowns of the gas agencies must be out of the residential areas to thwart any eventuality, however JK Government has paid no heed towards the guidelines. At present, besides JAKFED, owned by Government, other gas agencies have their godowns in residential areas including Chenab Trading Comp. Ambphalla,Tawi Gas agency, Pacca Talab Rehari Chungi and Kameshwar Gas, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. |
