MLA warns to bring privilege motion against shifting of Indoor Stadium | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Oct 18: Against the alleged move of shifting the proposed Indoor Stadium from Kathua city to Billawar town, Kathua MLA Rajiv Jasrotia today warned to move a privilege motion in state assembly against a minister. In a chat with media persons here today, he said that he had been given an assurance on the floor of the House by CAPD minister Choudhary Zulfkar that the Indoor Stadium would be constructed at district headquarter and would not be shifted to any other place. He said Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed had also announced in District Development Board meeting at Kathua in June that the indoor stadium would be constructed at Kathua. Jasrotia said unfulfilling the assurance given to a member by a minister tantamounts to breach of privilege. "I have decided to move a privilege motion against the minister in case the indoor stadium is shifted from Kathua to Billawar. The matter took a critical turn during the review meeting of DDB here yesterday when the MLA warned to walkout in protest against the deputy chief minister's alleged statement that the Indoor Stadium would be shifted to Billawar. Taking a serious exception to the Deputy CM's alleged statement, Jasrotia said he would not tolerate it. Questioning the shifting of the Stadium to Billawar, he said it had no logic as Billawar is a small town while Kathua is one of the largest towns of the state which is growing fast after two capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar. Jasrotia was also supported by three other MLAs of the district. They, while endorsing the Jasrotia's view point said that CM had made an announcement that the Indoor Stadium should be set up at Centrally located place in Kathua town. They said there was no logic in shifting the stadium to other place. He demanded that the Indoor Stadium be established at Kathua and not at any other place. He said it was the fittest case for breach of privilege and in case the stadium is shifted to Billawar he will bring a breach of Privilege motion in the House. |
