Avinash Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 18: Finally, after verification of allegations levelled by the wife of a cop, Akhnoor police today registered case of molestation against a senior medical officer (SMO) of 33 Bn of BSF. Sunita Devi, wife of constable Naresh Kumar of BSF's 33 Bn based in Akhnoor, had on Saturday filed a complaint at police station, Akhnoor, alleging molestation by the officers of the Bn. Today, Ahknoor police registered a case against Dr Amit Kumar, son of Kewal Krishan of Rehari Colony, Jammu. "Dr Amit, a SMO of the unit, has been booked under section 354 and FIR No 188/15", police sources said, adding that case was registered this evening, but arrest had not been made so far. "He is likely to be arrested any time", a police officer said and added that the BSF officer was also summoned yesterday to verify the veracity of the woman's complaint against him. "He was questioned by police and let off late Saturday night after repeated requests from a commanding officer," he added. "It is expected that further investigation would unearth the tyranny of officers with cops," said Sunita, showing gratitude towards media and police. She said she would file a case in the court of law against the officers who were harassing and exploiting the cops, who were always ready to sacrifice their lives for the cause of the nation. When contacted, SHO Akhnoor, Pushpinder Singh confirmed that a case of molestation had been registered against Dr Amit Kumar, SMO BSF 33 Bn. |
