Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 18: Following directions from the PMO, the State Government has now decided to act tough against divisive forces so that the agenda-of-Alliance for development between PDP and BJP, partners in the state government shouldn't be derailed.
According to sources, the PMO has communicated to the state government that the death of the Zahid, who was attacked by petrol bombs in Udhampur, could be exploited by the opposition and divisive forces against the Government.
It had also stated that while things should be handled in a mature and sensitive manner they shouldn't be allowed to go too far off.
"Zahid' death should act as stern reminder to the government that divisive forces are making every desperate attempt to destablise the government. The government should set an example to send message that such forces will be dealt with sternly,' the PMO has communicated.
Sources said the CM Mufti Mohmaad Sayeed had discussed the development with the Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh. The two leaders reportedly discussed the intelligence reports and the police reports of the events leading to the developments.
The Government had decided to 'expose' such divisive elements and also make the report public, when it is finalized, to bring facts before the public.
"Some forces are getting disturbed over the pace of the development and accountability being brought into the governance, such forces feel threatened that if the pace of the development in corruption free environment goes it will expose them and also make them irrelevant in the coming elections. It is for this reason that these corrupt politicians are making every attempt to disturb the situation and take away the government's focus on development," said a senior leader.
