Jammu, Oct 18 : KVK Jammu working under the administration control of Directorate of Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology of Jammu organized farmer's field day of Maize, Mustard and Paddy crops raised under frontline demonstration programme at different villages of Jammu district. Speaking on the Occasion Dr Sanjay Khar Senior Scientist and Head (Programme Coordinator) KVK Jammu said that laying out front line demonstrations depicting the latest technologies related to crop production has been one of the mandate of KVK's and during the current Kharif Season KVK has demonstrated the newly released varieties/technologies of Maize Mash Paddy, Harad and Improved Fish seed at different villages of Jammu district. Dr Rakesh Sharma, Senior Scientist Agricultural Extension, informed that demonstrations on newly released Pusa Basmati varieties such as 1509, 1612, 1401, PRH-10 along with the improved seed of basmati-370 varieties have been laid at R S Pura, Suchetgarh and Bisnah block of Jammu district during the current Kharif season. Dr Punit Choudhary, Scientist Agroforestry, KVK Jammu briefed that 6.0 ha of area has been cover with improved maize hybrids/varieties. |
