| SC/ST/OBC, RBA hold convention on 'Save Reservation' | | | Early Times Report
Nowshera Oct 18: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations Unit Nowshera organized a day long convention on the topic 'Save Reservation' at Town Hall, Nowshera Rajouri in which large number of members of organization participated. State Co-ordinator SC/ST/OBC & RBA Organization Sushil Kumar and State President R K Kalsotra accompanied by State leader Prithive Raj Khokar, Iqhal Choudhary Nakshbandi, Dr Qasim Choundhary, Dr Monhar Singh Bist, SP Langeh, Mohan Snehi, Vishal Bist, Satish Syal, Som Bhardwaj and state youth leader of confederation Narinder Kesar spoke on this occasion. Special invitee R K Kalsotra while addressing the gathering said that in the latest case State Government has failed to defend its Reservation Act-2004 in which the State High Court has struck down the Reservation in Promotion due to slackness of the State Government and its Law Department.
He called upon govt to immediately call the cabinet meeting to bypass the judgment issued by court on reservation promotion, otherwise community members will come on road. He also urged the Government to clear the backlog of posts by launching special drives for these categories.
Speakers also exhorted gathering to remain united to protect the Constitutional rights of the reserved categories and asked them to participate in thousand in Save Reservation Convention/Rally on Nov 1 at Jammu and on Dec 7 at Delhi.
