ramnagar, Oct 18: JKNPP workers of Ramnagar today held a strong protest demonstration against Ground water department and burnt the effigy of XEn Groundwater in protest against the death of a worker and injury to the other yesterday evening due to the explosion of the diesel engine compressor of the handpump machine in ward no. 8 of Ramnagar.
The angry protesters today held a massive protest and took out a procession raising slogans against the ground water department and seeking arrest of the concerned officers of Ground Water Deptt. The processionists took rally upto the office of SDPO Ramnagar and sought immediate arrest of the delinquent officers who they claimed had used old, obsolete and inferior machinery for drilling of handpumps in Ramnagar. In the meantime, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Ex-MLA Ramnagar has strongly condemned the Ground Water Deptt. for playing with the lives of people by deploying antiquated, archaic and atrophied machinery for drilling handpumps in Ramnagar. |
