EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Oct 18: Patwar association Kishtwar which was up in arms against Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kishtwar over his alleged abusive behavior with revenue officials including Patwaries has decided to carry on with its protests after the meeting between the officer and the association at the behest of some retired revenue officer ended in a dead lock. As per the details available with "Early Times", Patwar Association Kishtwar demanded an apology from the said controversial officer who is known as "Summon officer" but after the refusal of the officer, decided to go on indefinite strike over the abusive behavious and dictator attitude of ACR Kishtwar Dr. Khalid Hussain Malik . The controversy sparked on Thursday last when the controversial officers allegedly hurled abuses at President of the Association and its members followed by the meeting of Patwar Association Kishtwar led by its President Nisar Butt with Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal where they apprised him about the growing resentment among the Patwaries and other staff members over the incident. It was decided that in case ACR Kishtwar did not tender his written apology and changed his behavior towards his subordinates, the association along with other staff members will go on indefinite strike. While reacting to the allegations leveled by Patwar Association Kishtwar against ACR Kishtwar, ADC Kishtwar sought time till Monday from them so that the concerns raised by the Association could be looked into and urged upon the association to defer the strike call so that the matter could be resolved amicably. However even after deliberation at various levels, ACR Kishtwar refuse to budge forcing the Patwaries to go on protest leave from Monday. Meanwhile, a senior retired Revenue officer also tried to break the deadlock between the two groups and urged upon both the parties to resolve the issue amicably, but he could not succeed. It is pertinent to mention that several youths of Kishtwar accused ACR Kishtwar of misusing his official position that had brought bad name to the chair. He had issued summons to government employees, political activists who had participated in protest against him and also to a local reputed journalist for highlighting his atrocities on poor people including women of village Sirgwari. The said officer is allegedly being backed by some unrecognized NGOs run by his close associates. In addition there are several complaints regarding embezzlement, harassment and over two dozen complaints against him of misuse of official position filed by his father but the said officer by using his influence manage to hold all such enquires pending agaisnt him.
